WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Christ is the center of our health and wellness. A person in relationship with Christ should be able to have and maintain health in regard to their physical, mental, spiritual and relationship well-being. It is the state of a person’s wellbeing which helps them carry out the Great Commission by being able to more effectively and joyfully serve the body of Christ. As with anything a person’s relationship with Christ is most important and prayer is the basis for healing and wholeness of self and community. People who choose to participate in the Wildewood Health Ministry will be continually redirected back to seeking Christ to lead them in their decision making through prayer, worship, reading of scripture and thankfulness for the blessings received daily.

This group of church and community healthcare volunteers will prayerfully help with facilitating and directing people within Wildewood and the Papillion community to available (and appropriate) healthcare resources. This includes but is not limited to primary care, urgent care, counseling, specialties, support groups, free clinics and even access to food pantries in the area. Some limited free health screenings such as blood pressure, heart rate, fasting blood glucose, height/weight and BMI checks will be done starting out on a monthly basis with the hope of being able to provide more services in the future. Promotion of health education on a variety of topics such as: disease processes, diet, exercise, health maintenance, etc. will also be provided by the health volunteers so people of the community can make fiscally appropriate decisions in regard to purchasing health insurance as well as choosing an appropriate level of care for evaluation of any conditions and medication management in collaboration with their primary care provider.

Through the provision of these services people in the church and community will be better equipped to monitor their health and make healthier choices for themselves and their families in order to maintain or improve current health status. They should also be able to recognize changes in their health sooner so they can obtain faster treatment if needed.
